Literacy Journey
My literacy journey is an interesting story that I would never have acknowledged without my inquiry process. It was definitely an eye-opening experience because I didn’t realize how significant little life events or how people such as my father have effected or impacted my literacy journey. Writing my literacy narrative allowed to explore my life events and people closest to me and connect them to my knowledge of literacy. My narrative is centered on my father and his impact on my journey. I discussed how anything and everything I remember learning came from my father and that his knowledge and experience helped me develop and pave my own literacy path. I never realized how much a single person could alter my journey in such a major and positive way. Without my dad I would have developed different methods of learning and grew up with an alternate learning process. This demonstrates how certain people affect your literacy path and how others can simply alter or change that path. In my narrative, I also discuss life-altering events such as a death in the family or my father contributing to save a life and how those events altered my literacy path as well. I discuss how others actions change the way you process certain events which effects your learning and coping mechanisms. My literacy narrative changed my perception on how knowledge is obtained and the process to which it is obtained is different for everyone. I believe this has positively influenced my writing and I will constantly be reminded of where my inquiry process came from and how it developed.
